North Shore Farms; Private Beach! Private Hot Tub! Huge Lawn!

We had our family reunion here in August 2026, and overall, we had a good experience. The management was wonderful to work with before and during our stay. They answered all of our questions ahead of time, which helped reduce a lot of our worries when planning for a large family group. They consistently responded to our emails and phone calls and were always very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The booking process was easy, and checking in and out of the house was also very straightforward. The house is older, so there are definitely some areas that aren't as pretty or well-maintained. There were places where older tile was coming off the walls or floor, and most of the windows either didn't open or only opened halfway because the house appears to have settled over time and the windows are crooked. That said, the house was overall clean, the electronics and appliances worked, and everything was functional. One of our favorite things about the property was having our own private beach and so much privacy. The location is also convenient, with restaurants, boat rentals, and ATV rentals nearby. However, the beach itself was not what we expected. It is more of a wet, hard sand rather than the soft, sandy beach you find on North Beach. There is some plant growth in the lake area, although nothing that was uncomfortable or harmful when walking barefoot. The water depth only went to our thighs even at 1/2 mile out. The biggest issue for us was the air conditioning. The house does have AC, but it did not cool the house well enough. There is NO shade around the house, and there are NO curtains or shades on the south- or west-facing windows. As a result, a lot of heat came through the large windows during the day, and the AC simply couldn't keep up. We were very hot at night and had to open windows for relief. Unfortunately, the house didn't really cool down until around 4 a.m. We strongly recommend that the owners consider adding heat-blocking curtains or shades. A covered back patio would also be a great addition, both to provide shade and to make the lake view more enjoyable. The kitchen was another area that could use improvement. The listing says it is a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, and cooking supplies, but many of the items were very old and more like basic camping cookware like cast iron. This made it difficult to prepare larger meals for our family. On the positive side, having two refrigerators and two freezers was extremely helpful for our large group. Overall, this is an older property with some maintenance and comfort issues, but it has a lot going for it — especially the private beach, privacy, convenient location, and helpful management. With improvements to the AC, window coverings, kitchen cookware, and some of the older finishes, this property could be much more comfortable for larger groups. We would rent from them again.
